Wave2 Locator Admin Portal - Managing Locations - Banking Holidays

The Wave2 Locator includes support for banking holidays. Like the location alerts features, it allows you to show colorful and bold rich text / HTML messaging that, when active on that holiday, is shown prominently in place of the live open and closed indicators right inside your locator. This allows you to schedule a holiday for your institution and show holiday messaging at all branch locations on that entire day. 

The Admin Portal allows you to easily create, edit, and delete those holidays, and even to import them from a list of standard bank holidays in the US with a single click.

Creating a Holiday
Creating a holiday is fairly straightforward. From the top menu, select Locations and then Manage Holidays. Then you can choose to "Add a New Holiday," "Import Standard Holidays," or to edit any existing holidays.

Important Note 1: For purposes of scheduling, all times are in the Eastern Time Zone. Please keep this in mind for accurate scheduling.
Important Note 2: Clicking the Import Standard Holidays button will create duplicate holidays if you have already imported holidays in the past.
Important Note 3: All holidays are automatically applied to all your locations that have location type = BRANCH, and the holiday message is shown for the entire day. If you want to create a holiday or closure for any individual location or for an ATM location, or if you want to create a holiday that only applies to a half day or a portion of a day, please use the Location Alerts feature.


Managing an Existing Holiday
The holidays that you have created or imported will now be shown on the Manage Holidays screen. You can select any alert to edit or delete. The Edit Holiday screen is identical to the Create Holiday screen.

Deleting Holidays and Updating for the New Year
Each holiday will only be active on its selected date. You can also and edit any holiday and adjust its dates to "reactivate" the holiday for a new year. Or if you prefer, you can delete all holidays at the end of the year and import the new standard holidays. You can delete individual holidays, or select many or all and bulk delete them.

Important Note 4: Created holidays do NOT automatically update their dates for each new year. They must be updated, edited, or deleted and re-imported to reflect the correct dates for each year.
