The Wave2 Locator Admin Portal tracking and reporting really gets interesting when it comes to data visualization and understanding the geographical interest and demand for your presence by consumers. For that task, we have created two main visualizer maps - the Heat Map and the Cluster Map.
Navigation
From the top menu, select Tracking & Reporting and then either Search Heat Map or Search Cluster Map.
Controls
Data Visualized
Both heat maps and cluster maps allow you to visualize the same data and turn the data display on and off for different kinds of search data:
- Initial Map Loads (which includes any targeted locations, auto-GPS loads, IP-based location loads, and the like)
- Map Drag Searches (panning / zooming & Exploring the Map)
- Text Searches (very specific and deliberate text entry of particular address, zip, city/state, etc.)
- Mobile App Searches (to help understand mobile app usage separately from other activity)
- Location Clicks (to understand what locations were of interest enough for users to click and open map markers to learn more
Location Marker Overlays
Both heat maps and cluster maps also allow you to overlay your own location markers (your branches and ATMs), as well as any surcharge-free ATMs, shared branches and the like, so you can visualize how your current offerings meet the demand of your members and customers.
Cluster Maps vs. Heat Maps
While heat maps provide trending information and search intensity data to help identify regions of highest interest, cluster maps provide that same information in a quantitative way, showing the relative demand and search density with circles of differing color and radius, along with the total search count for that cluster. As you zoom in, the circular clusters break apart into smaller and smaller clusters, giving you a more detailed and granular view of the search behavior and geographic interest of your users.
