Wave2 Locator Admin Portal - Configuration - Initial Map Location
The Wave2 Locator Admin Portal allows you to easily configure the initial location of the locator map, which will determine which initial branch and ATM locations will be shown. You can either set a specific geographic starting point using a latitude, longitude decimal coordinate pair, or you can set it to use the IP address of the user to make a rough estimate of their starting point in order to give them a good nearby initial view without needing to initiate an
automatic GPS search on load.
There are two places you may need to know to adjust these configurations.
1) Initial Location Type
The first thing you need to configure is the Initial Location Type. There are currently two options here: DefaultLocation and GeoIPLocation. DefaultLocation will take a latitude, longitude decimal coordinate pair that you set as the initial location. GeoIPLocation will use the IP address of the user to make a best-guess estimate of their location.
Navigation to This Configuration
From the top menu, select Locator Configuration and then Other Settings. Initial Location Type is a dropdown selector input very close to the top. Simply click the dropdown and select the appropriate value.

2) Default Location
Regardless of which Initial Location Type you configure, you still need to configure the Default Location coordinates. There are many ways to get a decimal coordinate pair for latitude, longitude. One way is to use the "adjustment map" in the Manage Locations screen and utilize the drag and drop interface to find a very precise latitude and longitude. Copy and Paste the coordinate values from there, being sure to include any negative signs and all the digits. You can also use Google Maps - just search for any address and right-click on the location. There, in the right-click menu, you will see the latitude, longitude value which you can then copy and paste into the Wave2 Admin Portal.
Navigation to this Configuration
From the top menu, select Locator Configuration and then Other Settings. This will take you to the miscellaneous configurations page, which has many small adjustments available for your locator configuration and user experience.
About 2/3rds of the way down the screen, you will find "Default Location Latitude" and "Default Location Longitude" text field inputs. Enter the coordinate pair values you obtained above.

That's it! Scroll down and click the big "Update Other Settings" button to save this configuration and go live with the new starting location configuration settings.
